Leaders of Free Georgia party meet with

Members of European Parliament in Brussels

Leaders of the "Free Georgia" party Kakha Kukava and Roin Khijakadze are meeting with MEPs in Brussels.

On the 20th of November a meeting was held with Mr. Marco Zanni, head of one of the largest factions of the European Parliament, "Identity and Democracy", which also represents Italy's the most popular party "Northern League". Issues discussed at the meeting include bilateral cooperation between Free Georgia and the "Northern League", as well as the recent developments in Georgia.

"Free Georgia" party leaders have briefed European lawmakers on the current situation in Georgia, in particular, how the country's informal ruler and oligarch Bidzina Ivanishvili has broken an agreement with the opposition and how he is trying to maintain a one-party rule through political upheaval and fraud even after the 2020 elections.

"Free Georgia" delivered Mr. Marco Zanni a joint statement from the opposition stressing both the importance of electoral reform and the immediate release of political prisoners.

"Free Georgia" continues meetings in the European Parliament. The party's priority is to strengthen bilateral co-operation with European conservative parties, as well as efforts to isolate the Ivanishvili regime through financial sanctions.
